    First thing you have to understand is that you don’t ‘play’ the market if you want to make money. If you wanna play, bet on the ponies, or dump your cash into the slots.
    What you want to do is invest. It’s not the same thing. Educate your self, read good financial newspapers, Understand that there are unscrupulous people who want to liberate your cash, there are plenty of half truths. It’s strictly Buyer Beware. Once you give your cash to some one it might be real hard to get it back. Go slow & easy. Deal with reputable brokers. It’s like learning how to swim. You might want to try MSN Money, it’s a good site run by microsft.

    There is a ton of free information online to get you going in the right direction below are just a few.

    Make sure to take your time and learn before you leap. Trading stocks especially "individual" stocks is hard to master and succeed at.
