first of all don’t think you are rich because of 55k and 21 yrs of age. 55k is a small sum of money. If I were you I wouldn’t spend it on anything but a house and then rent rooms to your responsible buddies. then next year buy another property and repeat. I own over 5m in real estae and each month I collect over 180k in rent.

Since you have been born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you seem to have no financial worries. However, your character is entirely in your hands and will last longer than even your capital. Take good care not to take credit for your good fortune, and do not look down on others who have not been so lucky.

Personally with the market having fallen so low I would put it all in stocks if I was that age ane working. Your job, the income, is your "safe" money and covers that part of your overall risk factor.
I think some great gains will be made in the next year or two. I just can’t say when.
Stocks normally return about 11% average annually. We already have had a 20% to years return in a single month. (we know we are down for the year) BUT I think more is to come.
And I would look at dividend paying blue chips (or a mutual fund that focuses on same) at these prices and at this time. At your age I would also have the dividends and gains go to you and not reinvested automatically, as your income tax rate is likely low at this point and you might need the money. But I also like the option of deciding when to reinvest rather than DCA in.
Good Luck.
