I have two approaches:

1) Short term profits for my regular account.
2) Long term investing for my retirement accounts.

I use different criteria to screen for both accounts.

For my long term accounts I look for that pay good dividends and increase dividends. The price doesn’t really matter to me since I plan to hold these for a while.

My short term trading account I like priced below 10, have a current ratio 1.5 or higher, and have insiders buying the stock.

These two screening approaches give me a universe of to continue doing research. From that pool, I only where the company is eliminating debt while increasing earnings. For either strategy the company has to be going in the right direction.

What are your favorite approaches to looking for ?

    My screening is just simple

PEG<=1, P/E<=15, P/S<==1, P/B<=1, Positive dividend, Market cap has to be more than 1 billion $.

Just simple screen of valued stocks. And using Technical analysis to entry/exit when you need to.

Earnings yield on expected earnings estimates and the risk premium. Absolute price is irrelevant.
