1) Short term profits for my regular brokerage account.
2) Long term investing for my retirement brokerage accounts.
I use different criteria to screen for both accounts.
For my long term accounts I look for stocks that pay good dividends and increase dividends. The price doesn’t really matter to me since I plan to hold these stocks for a while.
My short term trading account I like stocks priced below 10, have a current ratio 1.5 or higher, and have insiders buying the stock.
These two screening approaches give me a universe of stocks to continue doing research. From that pool, I only buy stocks where the company is eliminating debt while increasing earnings. For either strategy the company has to be going in the right direction.
What are your favorite approaches to looking for stocks?

My screening is just simple
PEG<=1, P/E<=15, P/S<==1, P/B<=1, Positive dividend, Market cap has to be more than 1 billion $.
Just simple screen of valued stocks. And using Technical analysis to entry/exit when you need to.

Earnings yield on expected earnings estimates and the risk premium. Absolute price is irrelevant.
