• How can I start investing my money?

  I’m 18 and want to start investing my money so I have something when I finish uni. I dont have a lot (roughly £5,000), I want to invest in property but, of course this isn’t really possible with a small amount of money.
  Of course I know risk = outcome

  Should I trade my mutual funds to go 100% on stocks? Once again, Ive been involved in the stock market and I realized that I would have received a bigger gain than if I would have just kept my money in my mutual funds. Should I just start investing 100% in the stock market and get serious?

  I am 17 and im looking to start investing some of my money. I have already had about 5 years of novice experience with it and have gained around 3000$ as a result. But i feel that even though i have gained, in my opinion, a large sum of money compared to what i started with (500) i still have a lack of experience in how to buy stocks and what should i buy.

  So my question is this: Is there a book that is good for someone of my experience that will help me further learn about the stock market and trends to look for? I want a book that gives great tips and suggestions. For example i learned recently that the stock market generally always drops a little on a Monday.

  I’m a college student, worked all through high school and saved up quiet a bit of money. Should I start investing my money? I’m only 18, but I have a little over 2,000 in the bank (had close to 6 but I got a girlfriend and you know how that goes), I still work full time making around 320-350 a week. How much should I put aside, and where should I put it? I thought about being safe and putting my money in a CD, adding more every week. Is this a safe route to go?   I’m 16 and I want to start investing. The money I’m using is expendable, so I’m willing to take a few risks. HOWEVER, I only have about 00. I understand the majority of the main online brokerage don’t offer minimum balances close to that, but are there any that have low minimum balances that would accept 00?   But first I would like to know what a few terms mean and also how the investing process works.

  What do the following terms mean and how do they work: margin interest rate, option trading cost, and cash balance interest rate.

  Now when you first purchase stock base rate fee, is this per stock or per transaction?

  When you sell the stock and want the cash, what fees apply?

  When you sell but want to purchase other stock wit that money, what fees apply?

  1. Is it better to invest online of AMC(Asset Management companies) like Sundaram BNP Paribas at http://www.sundarambnpparibas.in/invest_online/ or go through Sharekhan, ICICIdirect which charge a fee of 2-3% of the investment amount?

  The advantage of ICICI direct is I submit my information to them once whereas if I want to invest in Reliance Mutual Fund, I have to go to their site, submit my info after which i can start investing with them.

  A couple friends and I passionately follow the markets and trade stocks, options, etc. We love investments and learning more about them.

  I know that you need special certification to give financial advice — but would it be legal for us to give advice to other students on a local level?

  Do you need to assist more than X amount of people with greater than X amount of capital before you are subject to the certification and registration requirements?

  We would basically be talking about helping other kids start investing… NOT actually managing their money.
