• I want to buy stock and invest, what's the best way to go about it? Online? E*Trade?

  I am 23 y/o college student, and I was just looking to invest and stuff for my future. My friend, has stocks and does well. So is online the best way to get into buying stocks yourself? Is there a nice online place to do this. What is involved in buying/trading stocks? I mean I have a retirement setup from work, but that’s an automatic deduction and I don’t really mess with it as much. I am hoping personal investing will give me some more control.

   

• ROTH IRA-Investing a Tax advice?

  I want to open a ROTH to do some personal investing in stocks/option/futures etc. I am confused as to how the taxes work when doing this. When you sell a security do you get taxed on the gains, or not until you withdrawal it out of the ROTH? At what rate do you get taxed? Personal Income or capital gains? My personal income tax is 15% if that helps.
  I understand that ROTH is for long run investing but i’m asking the tax consequences when you withdrawal early.

  i was just given some advice on how to better use some saved money i have by a co-worker…and basiclly it sounds better than having money saved and it doing nothing..i heard a lot of details about it aswell and its a legal company..basiclly investing money in govt bonds and gaining intrest..anyone out there doing this? thanks
  yes this is mutual funds and the fee doensnt bother me.

  I am looking for a program or maybe even a game that that lets me simulate investing in the stock market. Currently i am gathering as much Information about personal investing as possible, i just need to test it out with out risk first. It would benefit me the most if the program is easy to download, free and worth my while.

  I’m an out of college associate for a research company, and living at home has afforded me the opportunity to save up some money. I currently have an an online brokerage account and hold some ETF’s, but am looking to become a little more involved in terms of personal investing; rather then letting my money sit in a checking account. • Stock Market for a Beginner?

  I have never ever done any kind of investments, stocks, bonds, or whatever its all called. Ive always been interested in it, and always wanted to learn as much as I could about it. I am a complete idiot when it comes to the stock market, dont know anything, and so far online all I can find are articles for people who already know the basics of investing. And even when I find something for a true beginner, I still cant understand where its coming from and what I have to do to learn.

  If anyone has personally used a good book or DVD, that basically went from step one, to the last step of personal investing, even if its a few books to make a set, please let me know about them and tell me what they were like. Also I know a lot of people that have had someone invest for them, and they have profited quite a bit, but Im hard headed and am the kind of person that wants to learn and practice what Im interested in, not have someone do it for me.
