  I’m a 23 year college student trying to figure out what the 401k plan is and how to invest money in the stock market. I really am clueless on it all. I am very interested in saving and investing money, and increasing money overtime.(who isn’t). Thanks for advice.

• Investing in Stocks for the first time and unsure about the selling part of it?

  I have been reading about how to invest in the stock markets both online and through books and after months of researching, I am still confused as to how the selling part can lead to a lose. I guess my interpretation of the whole system is very naive. I always through that making a profit from stocks was as simple as buying the stock at one price and then selling it when it increases.

  I am considering buying stock in the company for which I work. I became interested when I saw that their stock price dropped from down to , over a 6 month period. Prior to this, the stock was continually averaging between – . It has begun to increase again and one month later it is up to .

  Here is my plan; I want to buy 0 shares at , as I really believe that the stock in going to increase more. My goal would be to sell it when it reaches or more, so that I can make a profit and then go back in a buy more shares.

  Can somebody please please explain to me if there is a possibility I could lose money…. I mean, if there is at least a increase per share, then what are the changes of me not making a profit?? Am I wrong in presuming that if the the going price on the market is now share, than I can get for each one of my shares minus commissions???

  I really look forward to your responses, as I am eager to make my first trade.
