I am a college student who wants to start investing but can’t invest the minimum 500 that a lot of places want. I’d like to just invest a hundred or so to get started.

When the stock market crashes, and people lose their investments, where does that money go to? Who gets rich?

What does that mean?

Isn’t it all psychological? If almost everyone that owns stocks just ignored all the political and financial news, would it not be much more stable? It seems like the tiniest bit of bad news can affect an entire market or stock. This is more of a hypothetical question.

There is no rationale for the Stock Market crash. If the money is changing hands, then the economy will get going. Hoarding and dumping is only worsening this situation.
You could do very well on Wall Street if you are a psychologist.

What I am curious about, is when and how did merchant, specially small merchant, decide it is worth investing in upgrading their POS to allow customer to pay for their transactions with a credit card.

Which offers the lowest price to trade in the stock market from your home? (Scot-trade, E-trade, etc.)

There is little doubt, the stock market will drop and interest rates will go up considering the fragile economy and the down grade of US Treasuries; however, do you think this will be short lived (< 1 yr.) or do you think this will be a much slower recovery like the housing market?
