learning to invest?
I am beginner investor. I wanted to find out what are some good seminars or courses to attend to teach me some basics for option trading, mutual funds, stock trading. Any webinars or live seminars in the bay area would work.
Thanks

The old fashion way works best. You’ll have to read. I suggest "One Up on Wall Street" by Peter Lynch. Its a real good book for beginners. You shouldn’t even think of options until you have many years of stock trading under your belt. Most options (up to 85%) expire worthless. They can be lucrative if you have a real good working knowledge of the market.

Not sure if you have cable but a good show to watch is on MSNBC called Mad Money by Jim Cramer. He is crazy in the way he does his show but he offers allot of advice for new investors. Also I just read his book stay mad for life which gives extensive advice and explains in detail about how the market works and how your investments need to change as you get older.

You might start with reading books like
1) The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing by Jason Kelly or
2) One Up On Wall Street : How To Use What You Already Know To Make Money In The Market by Peter Lynch
