Is there something wrong with me? please help!?

I am 21 years old. I’m currently a nursing student taking my prerequisites and approaching a very tidious nursing program a year from now . I have a problem and that is, most of the times I can’t concentrate on my studies. One of the reason I have so many interest that I really need besides my studies. First is financial and economic matters specially dealing with Investments like the stock market, mutual funds etc. My plan is to have all the knowledge (doing self studies) that I can possibly have, and when I graduate nursing school and make some good money then I’m ready to plunge myself in our complex and dynamic financial world of Investing while I’m young and also in order to maximize the magic of "Compounding Interest". I really believe that the earlier you start investing the greater the return of invest ments. So pretty much while working as a nurse I’m also a sophisticated investor. Second is I’m working as a call center agent answering questions regarding all the electronic technology stuffs. Everything about computer,gps,radio,HDTV,software,mp3,cam… so pretty much every consumer electronics in the market. I love technology & I’m also a pretty savvy one with this stuff and actually I NEED to be savvy to answer all my customer’s questions. I’m also an advanced magician but I slow down because I can’t really benefit from it financially. I believe that to be a real master in anything you have to take it seriously and pretty much like an obsession. I study many successful people and they have a common denominator and that is they are passionate on what they do, they’re doing it Morning, afternoon and night everyday. I’m doing this right now but I’m really having a had time balancing all the stuff. PLEASE HELP ME. i don’t want to fail my nursing studies. I will appreciate all your answers, thank you

Wow. You really have a lot going on; I can sympathize with you since I was in a similar situation trying to balance school, work, and a personal life. First off, if Nursing is your career path then make that your primary focus. I gather from your post that the income earned from nursing will be invested, so if you aren’t a nurse than you aren’t making any money. Second, yes successful people are passionate but they are also persistent. So you must pace yourself through all these endeavors and only attempt what you can really focus on 100%. Don’t get spread to thin because you will get burned out!!! (Been there). Sometimes its just best to slow down and evaluate your options> if you really like nursing than go get it. If you want to play in the stock market>make it happen. Remember you are young and have the rest of your life to make these things happen. It doesn’t have to be all at once. Good luck.

what i do is is make a list of things that i have to complete today, like a short term goal, & then full of long term goals. then on excel you can make like a planner of what you will do, but you have to remember tht u need daily excercise & some time to relax or ull get aggrivated & give up. so making a planner helps me stay organized. mayb it will help u 2

Look you don’t sound all that thrilled about nursing (tedious???) so I’ll tell you this. You can always find a way to make money but you can find a way to love a job if you don’t. Find a job you love and don’t worry about money. If you love technology then do something with that. You only get one life make it great by being happy. You can’t be happy if your unsatisfied with what your job. You should love to go to work.
