in my humble half your position view… no way. Well technically it depends on your age, plan and time frame.

That sort of money should be working for you and I think it really comes down to are you happy with the return you are getting on your investment.

I’m aggressive. I have over 75% of my portfolio in stocks. Are any of these mutual funds in tax shelter like an IRA or 401K?

Diversify is correct. Mutual funds go with th market for the most part. Some for better or worse. I bet you, like most are down from the start of the year right now… just like the markets. Imagine if you saw the market going sour in December or January and pulled half that money into safe bonds or cds, ensuring no loss and some nice interest in a shaky time. Then as market conditions improve. you can invest back in at bargain prices and make more returns.

A lot of options out there and Yahoo Answers is not the place to learn it all.

Diversify, diversify, diversify. Put some in Mutual funds, some in reits, some in money market funds and some in bank cd’s.

Better try CD’s in banks in Europe. They are offering 7+% apr

if you mean the "American" mutual fund family, spread over 3-4 funds…. you’re OK.

The American Funds are one of the best Mutual Fund companies in the USA. If you have more than 3 funds (with good asset allocation)….. you’ll do fine. The only negative about these funds is cost of entry. For $200,000 your cost to enter for A shares was $11,500, more for B shares.

    Hope this helps!
