You are asking strangers to spend hours and hours with you without benefit of even knowing that we’ve been able to help you. That’s expecting a lot.
I hope I won’t sound arrogant with this—but I’m going to suggest you click my name box (Len) and examine questions and answers. Because I focus largely on investing, you should find relevant answers to many of your questions.
After you’ve spent considerable time studying my responses and those of other contributors, you might throw some remaining questions our way here on this board. General questions such as "How does one learn how to invest?"—too non-specific as a rule. Better to direct our attention to something more easily answered as opposed to your asking for groundbreaking baseline information.
Most of us love this work and that extends to our sharing insights, too. So stay with your dream, read, study, compare answers and see if things don’t begin to make some sense.

Watch CNBC, especially Mad Money (6 pm ET) and Fast Money (5 pm ET). Read the Wall Street Journal. Don’t listen to anyone on Yahoo Answers, 99% of the people don’t know what the heck they are talking about, including me.

Sign up for some stock alert services as listed below, they can get you free stock picks, research, and other info on stocks that might be good picks.
Also, get a book like Stock Investing for Dummies and read up; don’t be put off by the name, the Dummies series are helpful because they are concise and easy to read.
