I need someone who prepares taxes as well. I need someone who can 1) find ways to reduce my tax liabilty 2) help me set up an long term 3) Be knowledgeable in that can reduce my current tax liability from my income. I am wary of with tons of fees and want someone who can give straightforward advice.

    If I were you, I’d go into a couple of businesses and ask who they get to do this for them. This is the best way to find a good advisor/accountant/solicitor. I did this and it saved me heaps. Go into business and just ask around. Also, ask at the bank. They might be able to recommend someone. However, be careful. Some businesses might get kickbacks, so stay away from financial businesses.

    Chances are someone else has been in a similar situation as you. Most people are quite happy to give word of mouth recommendations. I found THE BEST accountant doing this. Unfortunately I’m in sunny Australia, so that doesn’t do you any good.
