A lot of people have asked me how I first started to learn about finance. I was fortunate enough to have a finance class in high school taught by an amazing teacher. That formed the basis for me… the "textbook" side of finance.
Before you dive into books, you might want to take some courses on finance/investing first. At least, that’s just in my opinion.
As someone else mentioned above, the motleyfool is an amazing website.
I run a finance/investments blog at http://www.voindustriesblog.com. It’s only about two months old so there’s not much on it, but I do try to post at least once a day. Everyone has to start somewhere, right? Your question is very broad so it’s hard to give you a good answer, but I’d be happy to help you with any other questions you may have. You can post in the "Q&A" section of my blog if you would like and I’ll help you out as much as I can.
Good luck with everything!

Read weekly/monthly financial magazines, such as BusinessWeek, Fortune, Money, etc. Also watch CNBC as much as you can. Give yourself a year of doing this before investing.
