I’ve got a ROTH IRA that I’m not adding to. Would like to close my EDJ account and simply let the ROTH IRA ride.

You can, but your options of having the funds held in safekeeping are very limited.

The funds can not be transferred to your name since such a transfer would be considered a distribution for by IRS since they are currently held in a trust account for you.

You could have the funds held by the fund company in an account for you which would have the brokerage firm have the fund company transfer the shares to your account at the fund company. Therefore will have to open an account at the fund company, if they agree to do it for you.

Contact the fund company requesting them move the shares to an account for you and the necessary paper work needed.

However, it would be in your best interest to leave them with the brokerage firm, but you can always try

You can manage it yourself, but you need a brokerage account (with someone). That means EJones, or Amitrade, or Fidelity, etc.
