If you are looking to cut off spending leaks then you should concentrate on small things. Always small things add up to great benefits, same way small savings will fill your pot eventually.
- Turn off the television. Usually satellite and cable connection can cost up to $900. If you are spending most of your time at work then cutting off some of the premium channels would end up saving you some money.
- Trim your subscriptions. If you are subscribing for magazines its good but if you are not able to find time to read then it would be better to reduce your expenses and if you have subscribed for DVD rentals and you have time to watch only 2 movies per month then it’s not worth it. You may be a member in a gym club but going only once a week is not going to work at all. These entire expenses pill up to a major amount, instead you can save this money.
- Avoid banking fees. You could save some money if you stop buying the products offered by the banks as they regularly change their products and may charge you for excessive transactions.
- Pay your bills on time. This may sound quite simple but we tend to forget the due date of the bills and end up paying late fee charges. The late fee charges may seem to be a small amount of $45 but if you count for all the other bills and count how much you are paying annually then you could see how big that amount is.
- Keep eating lunch out at a minimum. If you are eating lunch outside when you are at work then you may be spending around $700 per month and if your spouse also does the same then your spending $1400 per month. Try to minimize eating outside as it will save you some money and eating that junk food isn’t going to do any good.
