Summer is the season in which we think our bills are going to increase but it isn’t that way, you can save more money during the summer than what you have been saving throughout the year. Here are some tips that would help you to save even though you sweat:
- Turn off the air conditioning. If you are trying to save some money in summer you must see that your air conditioner does not run for too long. Suppose there is a change in temperature tonight, the temperature has dropped below 30 degrees then switch off your air conditioner and open a few windows before going to bed.
- Cook outside. When you are cooking inside the house then the heat generated due to gas stove or baking would have no where else to go except your house. So try cooking in the open in your garden or backyard and avoid the heat inside. If cooking outside is not possible then affix a few windows in your kitchen and keep them open when you are cooking or a chimney would serve you the same.
- Let your laundry dry outside. When you have the option to hang your laundry outside use it because the natural heat given by the sun can not only help dry the clothes quickly but also, it kills all the germs present in the clothes and provides a fresh smell in the clothes. If drying the clothes outside is not possible then use a dryer at low temperature to partially dry your clothes and then let air do the rest.
- Replace your air conditioner filters. Filters are the main cooling component of you’re air conditioner, if you let the dirty air conditioner filters run then your electricity bill is going to shoot up and your air conditioner’s condition may deteriorate. Replace your filters as they come cheap or service them every week.
- Plan ahead for future home and garden projects. The end of season sale is the perfect time to shop. Outdoor materials, tools, summer wear clothes go cheap as people look forward to the next season (autumn) which is to follow. People would need much warm clothes and would like to stay at home.
